Lawrence commenced his audit profession with Ernst & Young Philippines and joined Merit Partners in August 2006. Whilst with Ernst & Young he gained exposure to a wide range of industries and was involved in the audit of several public listed and US SEC reporting entities. He also participated in other support engagements, such as equity offerings, acquisition audits, due diligence reviews and internal control reviews.

At Merit Partners, he is involved in providing assurance and advisory services in both the government and public sectors, financial services, local governments and private sectors.

Lawrence also leads Merit Partners Timor-Leste division and has been responsible for a number of the major engagements in Timor-Leste which includes a microfinance institution, an oil and gas authority, a commercial bank, Not-for Profit organisations, and government and lender banks funded development projects.
