Merit Partners actively participates in the community through various donations and sponsorships. Some of our latest endeavours are highlighted below.
During the months of May and June 2010 Merit Partners teams raised money to support Alzheimer's Australia NT, through holding morning teas, lunch, fundraising BBQ's and a raffle.
Overall we raised $2,313.55 for Alzheimer's Australia. A fantastic result, and thank you to all who participated and contributed to this worthy cause.
Vicki O'Halloran, CEO of Somerville expressed her "sincere thanks for your extremely generous donation". Stating that, "Somerville's programs assist those people most disadvantaged in our society and your assistance is greatly appreciated". Merit Partners has been donating to this worthy organisation for 6 years.
The Sunset Outreach is a service of St Vincent de Paul Society whereby volunteers meet up with those who do no live in a conventional home in Darwin and offer friendship, compassion, dignity and basic food. The staff at Merit Partners supports this service by way of monthly donations which assist to provide little luxuries in addition to the regular service in hope of improving the quality of life of those less fortunate.
Thursday the 17th June 2010 saw Merit Partners own Amin Islam sleep out underneath the stars at Gardens Oval. With only a basic meal of soup and bread; tea and coffee he said it was difficult at best, with planes overhead and other noise; mozzies and morning dew.
Amin would like to thank all clients, supporters and staff who supported him in this worthy cause, together raising $8,320.00
Merit Partners is working closely with both Darwin High school and Charles Darwin University to promote academic excellence. A lucky student chosen by their school or university will receive a cash incentive to reward them for their dedication and brilliance throughout the year.
Merit Partners is proud to be sponsoring the 2010 Palmerston Shopping Centre Variety's Special Children's Christmas Party. This wonderful event is for disadvantaged children and children living with a life threatening illness, physical or intellectual disability.
Merit Partners supports the NT Branch of the Lords Taverners of Australia in it's annual Charity Golf Day. The event celebrates young people and cricket and this year includes teams from NT disabled Ten Pin Bowling, Blind Cricket and Indigenous cricket - including the NT sides that participate in the Imparja Cup, the NT Young cricketers of the Year and the NT Cricket Association. Merit Partners is proud to be involved and will show its prowess on the Course.
Merit Partners are immensely proud to be a sponsor of St John Ambulance NT for the next 5 years. Our support is already making a significant contribution to St John Ambulance volunteers in the Territory as they commence their Volunteer Centre improvement project. Securing the future safety of the Territory community through their volunteers is their primary goal and we are thrilled we can help contribute.
St John Ambulance NT is working towards major infrastructure improvements to their Volunteer Centres in Darwin, Parap and Palmerston over the next 5 years. Improved facilities will better accommodate their growing Volunteer capability and services to the Territory community, improve safety and access to vital first aid equipment and improve training facilities for on going Volunteer professional development.
