St Vinnies CEO Sleepout Fundraiser

With the support of the Directors and Staff, Merit Partners opened their very first “Soup Kitchen” on 18 May 2015 – just one month prior to the CEO Sleepout at East Point on 18 June 2015. To prepare Director MunLi Chee for the CEO Sleepout at East Point, Amin Islam shared his ‘’Tales from the Dark’’ from his experiences during his past CEO Sleepouts whilst Mike Byrne from Vinnies helped raise awareness of HOMELESSNESS with his ‘’heart-warming reality stories’’. Every day is a paradise for us without us realising it!

Five types of soups were served with generous bread rolls available. A bake sale of a variety of delicious cakes, from a mango upside down cake to the Victorian sponge cake to velvet cupcakes to even raw cakes, was the highlight of the day! Merit Partners raised more than $500 for this successful event! Steven and Christian were the joint winners of the Guess the Chef Contest!

As Winston Churchill said, ‘We make a LIVING by what we get, but we make a life by what we give!’ Thank you to the CEO Sleepout Campaign Team and all the Volunteer Bakers, Chefs and Helpers for giving up their time to organise and prepare for this event. Thank you to all supporters who gave their time to attend and/or donate, including the MP Alumni!

To those who were unable to attend, please support Merit Partners at https://www.ceosleepout.org.au/ceos/nt-ceos/munli-chee-merit-partners/.
