Alzheimer’s Australia's Walk of a Thousand Memories

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and there is no cure. There are more than 353,800 Australians living with dementia. There are approximately 25,100 people in Australia with younger onset dementia (under the age of 65; including people as young as 30).

Merit Partners believe that “Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.”

Merit Partners’ troop comprising of Merit Partners Director MunLi, Bob, Amy, Adam, Garrett, Margaret, Candice, Fiona, Matt C, Sun, Louise, Dev and some of their family members gamely joined Alzheimer’s Australia and their supporters in the Walk of a Thousand Memories last Sunday, 21 August 2016 at the Darwin Waterfront to help raise awareness of dementia.

Matt C came in second – great job, Matt, for leading the way (and chasing after 7-year-old Jayden, who ran first amongst the kids!)!
The Walk ended with a breakfast sausage sizzle and healthy fruits, followed by a sponsored raffle draw. Candice and her children, Addison and Alexander, walked away that morning with one of the family raffle prizes – a fruitful day indeed and a Commendable job, Candice, for walking despite a sore foot!
